'So HaPai'

'Pai' 17/07/2013 - 19/07/2013

We arrived in Pai and managed to get a sweet bungalow overlooking the rice paddies for next to nothing, I could already tell I was going to fall in love with this place, It's laid back, small but there is a lot going on! Unfortunately we were running out of time as we wanted at least 2 weeks in Laos and 2 in Cambodia so we had only 1 full day to explore.

We'd met a Dutch girl called Andre and although neither of us had ridden mopeds we decided to go for it the next day. So we ate breakfast and handed over our passports, and that was it... I had a moped. It was so very strange as I have never even driven a car, I can just about manage a pushbike haha. It actually turned out to be so easy and a great place to have decided to do it for the first time as the roads were wide and pretty empty, and there is a lot to see!

Our first port of call a small hot volcanic springs just outside of the city, it was so bloody relaxing, the water was a cool 37 degrees, you had to edge in bit by bit. There were a few cooler pools and some handily placed vines that you could sort of dangle off.

We bombed it around the roads and found a cool view point up really high which had amazing views! Although you had to purchase green tea and a banana to enjoy it...?

Final stop a waterfall, by no means the best one we'd seen but it was still an enjoyable ride! So sad to leave Pai already, in the evening we booked our tickets to Laos.
